Distressing a chair with Chalk Paint

Sherry wanted to create a soft knocked back finish on this occasional chair. She decided to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to create the aged distressed look.

Sherry started by painting one coat of Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint all over the frame of the chair. She turned the chair upside down to paint the underside first.

Once the Old White was dry she went over the frame with Annie Sloan Old Ochre Chalk Paint. Once this was dry she lightly sanded the Old Ochre so that the Old White showed through.

You can control the areas of the frame that are most distressed by sanding more in some areas than others.

Sherry completed the look by adding a new seat - a quick and easy transformation!
